This blog will reflect the progress of my genealogy project(s). I will describe any major changes that I make on my website www.fayewest.ca and I will document how I solved some brick walls.

Ellingson
I've added details, including children and some grandchildren, for Mary Elizabeth Hall and her husband Berg Ellingson. Mary was my mother-in-law's (June (Hall) West) older half-sister. When Mary died at age 33, her youngest son, Earl, went to live with his grandfather Orson Hall and was raised as a brother to June.

All those Doyle boys and one Hamilton
Today I updated each of my Doyle grand-uncles and their wives. In some cases, the updates were significant - new marriage registration forms provided many details; in other cases, the updates were simply editorial. The easiest way to find the updates is to check the Recent Updates (23 September 2013) page. Or you can click on the links below:
Jerry Moore, my second cousin once removed, sent a lovely photo of John G Hamilton and his wife Selma Oksendahl. That is now available on their pages.
- Charles Michael Doyle (1892-1968)
- James Hamilton Doyle (1893-1980)
- John Mary Fitzsimmons Doyle (1894-1970)
- Joseph Gordon Doyle (1896-1973)
- Francis Joseph Doyle (1898-1966)
- Dominic Augustine Doyle (1902-1945)
- Bernard Cyril Doyle (1904-1989)
- Thomas Patrick Doyle (1908-1958)
- Philip Augustine Doyle (1910-1972)

James Hamilton Doyle
I came across some new information about my great-uncle James Hamilton Doyle and his wife Aulene (Addie) Benson. Most interesting was the fact that they had two children, Olivetta Mary and Robert H.

I received word of the death of Howard Melvin Harris, the husband of my husband's cousin LaRue Burbank. I have added the info and found his online obituary which provided more info about their children.

The children of Thomas John Doyle and Ann Elizabeth Burtch
While I was updating the site with info about James Joseph Aloysius Doyle's death, I realized that there was additional information available about his siblings:
- Mary Loretta Doyle (1909-1934)
- Frances Ellen Doyle (1911-1992)
- Beatrice Elizabeth Doyle (1913-1963)
- Catherine Stanislaus Doyle (1915-1932)
- Margaret Doyle (1918-1929)
- Michael John Doyle (1920-1999)
- Gertrude Theresa Doyle
- Helen Cecelia Doyle (1925-1995)
- Rita Marie Doyle (1928-1992)
James Joseph Aloysius Doyle
My grandfather's cousin (my 1st cousin twice removed), James Joseph Aloysius Doyle, passed away on 10 Dec 2012. I have updated his page with the information. Jim was born on 10 August 1930 and was almost 38 years younger than his cousin Charles, my grandfather. Jim lived his entire life in Ontario while Charles lived in British Columbia; they were probably unaware of each other's existence. I established the connection only about 10 years ago, long after Charles' death in 1968.

Still more Hamiltons
I just completed a lot of updates - mostly on the Hamiltons in Ontario and North Dakota. Much of the new information came from Ontario parish registers, census records, and North Dakota death records. Check the Recent Updates page for the changes since I last published (13 Jan 2013).

Doyle and Dunn and Hamilton, oh my!
For the past few months I have been collecting new and additional information on the many branches of my Doyle line. I found about 200 parish register entries on familysearch.org and those led me to search for other records on familysearch and on ancestry. The result was a huge amount of new information to be added to my database and published.
I finally decided that I couldn't wait until all the information was processed before re-publishing the site. So as of last night, about 160 people have been updated or added. Please check the Recent Updates page to see all the changes since the last time I published (September 2012 I think).
